The Millers made it three defeats on the spin after unbeaten Combined Counties League side Raynes Park comfortably booked a trip to Ryman League Division One South newcomers East Grinstead in the FA Cup Preliminary Round. Raynes Park opened the scoring inside 9 minutes when Lee Coburn headed into his own net following a free kick. But Cray equalised within six minutes when striker Aaron Jeffrey stroked home the club's first goal in 195 minutes of football.RPV sealed a deserved victory when striker Simon Moore slotted home a penalty after 50 minutes, before Marcus Dowdeswell came up from the back in the 68th minute to plant a free header into the goal from a corner kick.

Match Report:
The Millers finally secured their first win, and points, of the season as Fisher were eventually overcome by four goals to one at Badgers on Wednesday evening.
It was the Fish who went in front though after 12 minutes following a handball outside of his area by Millers keeper Jack Kelly. Referee Mr Guzman took no further action against the keeper but from the resulting free kick, Danny Maguire blasted the ball through the defensive wall and past Kelly for the lead.
But the Millers started to dominate proceedings and after Fisher goalkeeper Adam Highsted kept out Aaron Jeffery's close range effort, Jeffery was not to be denied and volleyed home Ben Healy's deep cross at the far post after 32 minutes.
Highsted again saved well from Jeffery moments later as the teams went into the break all square.
Seven minutes into the second half though, the Millers grabbed the lead for themselves as Jeffery collected Ola Rabiu's threaded pass to steer the ball past Highsted.
Five minutes later and Jim Doherty burst into the penalty area before picking out Greg Moorse near the penalty spot to calmly side foot the ball into the corner of the goal.
The win was secured for the Millers after 69 minutes as a high ball into the area was spilled by Highsted and Moorse was on hand to lob the ball back into the empty net!
With the first points safely secured for the Millers, a relieved Paul Gross can now travel down with his team to Deal Town on Saturday with renewed confidence.

After recording three away victories over the Dealers last season, the Millers once again proved too strong for the home side. Goals from strikers Luke Tanner and Aaron Jeffery secured the points before Jai Nuthall scored a late consolation for the Dealers.
Deal are now managed by former Millers' coach Darren Anslow and the majority of his team were players that lived nearer Badgers than the south coast! Having gained his first competitive victory in his previous fixture against Fisher, Millers' manager Paul Gross only made two changes with captain Tommy Osborne replacing Adam Gross and Luke Tanner being restored to the starting line up in place of Greg Moorse.
The Millers appeared to have re-gained some of the confidence lacking in the first three matches of the season and should have gone ahead after 9 minutes when Allwayne Jones seized on a defensive mistake but his shot was well saved by Dealers' stand-in keeper Alfie George. The resultant corner taken by Jeffery almost sneaked directly in.
The home side's defence played a high line for the entire game and it proved to be their downfall. Cray can never be described as being a long ball team but they expertly exploited the frailties in the Deal defence by picking out their strikers with a series of well executed long passes out of defence. The opening goal after 20 minutes was initiated by keeper Jack Kelly, when his well directed clearance found Tanner deep in the visitor's half. The striker did well to control the ball before cutting inside on his favoured right foot and his strike form 25 yards was low and hard and found the bottom corner of the net for his first goal of the season. Shortly after Jeffery doubled the lead. On this occasion, it was Joe Matthews that spotted the void between the last defender and the Deal goal and his long ball was latched onto by Jeffery who confidently slotted the ball past the stranded George. The home side had knocked Phoenix out of the FA Cup only 4 days earlier but were no match for the Millers who went into the break comfortably 2-0 to the good.
A two goal lead is always dangerous and Deal should have reduced the arrears early in the second half. However, a great save from Kelly ensured their two goal advantage remained intact and inevitably, the Millers soon finished the game off. Jeffery's second goal of the game, and his fifth of the season, was a carbon copy of his other goal. This time it was Jones that played the ball through and although he had a little bit more work to do, the in-form striker rounded George before tapping home.
The Millers could have and probably should have, increased their lead further but it was the Dealers that completed the scoring in the 90th minute when Nuthall headed home from close range. There was still time for Kelly to make the save of the game from another effort by the dangerous Nuthall but the points were safe.

On a wet Bank Holiday Monday, a ding dong battle between the Millers and the Trams saw the points eventually shared as Aaron Jeffrey scored his sixth goal in 4 matches (a week before netting 4 times in an 8-1 win over Rochester United) and a rare Joe Matthews goal weren't enough to get past a determined Croydon side. Dan Jupe scoring both goals for the visitors.

The Millers registered their record victory at Step 5 level with an emphatic victory against a beleaguered Rochester side. It was fitting that on National Non-League, Cray produced their best performance of the season and finally displayed some of the free flowing football that was sorely missing in the opening fixtures of the campaign. Although striker Aaron Jeffery will receive all the plaudits, as a result of his 4 goal haul, every player played their part in an historic day for the Millers.
Cray had created several good chances before Jeffery opened the scoring on 11 minutes. The lively Ola Rabiu produced a dazzling run before laying the ball to fall back Ben Healy and his pass in-field found Jeffery who hit a low shot past Hogan. Allwayne Jones then hit the post and Greg Moore nearly scored with an audacious volley. Rabiu finally doubled the lead in the 23rd minute when a neat exchange of passes between Jones, Healy and Jeffery enabled the winger to burst through the Spartans' back line before calmly slotting the ball past Hogan. Jeffery then made it 3-0 from a direct free kick after Jim Doherty was found on the edge of the Spartans' box. The ex-Bridon striker then grabbed himself a brace in the space of 3 minutes. Firstly, Jones laid him through and he finished in a similar fashion to Rabiu and then he converted Healy's low cross at the near post. The Spartans created their first chance of the game in the last minute of the half but Jason Perry's shot failed to trouble Jack Kelly in the Millers' goal. 5-0 at the interval. Cray started the second half as they finished the first and if it wasn't for two brilliant goal line clearances they would have been seven down by 50 minutes. However, they did manage to hold out until 71 minutes before Cray increased the lead further. Alex Chambers was introduced by Millers' manager Paul Gross for his debut following his move from Invicta side Orpington and the young striker did not take long to make an impact. Firstly, he latched onto a long ball down the right flank and although he could have shot himself, he unselfishly squared the ball to Jeffery who tapped home for his hat-trick. Soon after Chambers found himself in a similar position but this time he cheekily took the ball around Hogan before nudging the ball home for a debut goal.
Despite finding themselves seven goals in arrears the Spartans did manage to salvage a goal when a deep cross found Ricky Gundry unmarked in the box and the Spartans' captain headed past Kelly. There was still time for one more goal when Docherty was bought down and Cray were awarded a penalty. Jeffery stepped forward to secure his fourth of the afternoon and the Millers' eighth!
The win pushed the Millers up to 6th in the table, led at this early stage by a six wins from six, Erith & Belvedere.

The Millers had to dig deep to gain a point at Badgers last night following a 3-3 draw against ground-sharers Erith Town.
The 'visitors' started the match on the front foot and took the lead after 9 minutes as Ola Rabiu's shot was blocked by 'home' keeper Richie Stroud, but Rabiu followed in to head home the rebound.
10 minutes later the Dockers were handed an equaliser as the Millers failed to clear the defensive lines before the ball found Marcus Cassius to slot home.
At this point, the Dockers began to take the upper hand while the Millers were unable to keep the ball and were starting to look nervous.
After 33 minutes the Dockers took the lead as Ritchie Hammel's free kick curled towards the far post to evade all comers and nestle in the corner of the goal.
But the Millers responded and 3 minutes later, good interplay between Alwayne Jones and Aaron Jeffery ended when Jones fired a shot past Stroud from the edge of the penalty area.
Just before the break, Joe Matthews twisted a knee and had to be replaced by Ryan Sawyer and looks likely to be out of action for a couple of weeks.
But 5 minutes into the second half and the Dockers regained the lead as Kane Rice was allowed time and space to shoot across the goal from 20 yards, the ball hitting the inside of the post before rolling across the line.
The Millers began to regain some composure on the ball and started to threaten the home side's goal and they were rewarded as Jeffery levelled the scores on 76 minutes.
James Holder had a couple of goes of stopping Jeffery's run towards goal, before bringing down the striker, some 20 yards from goal. Jeffery picked himself up to fire the free kick into the top corner of the net, leaving Stroud as a mere spectator!
Jeffery almost grabbed a 4th for the Millers moments later as he stormed through the Dockers defence before sliding the ball past Stroud again, only for an assistant referee to spot sub Alex Chambers in an offside position as he tried to play the ball back into Jeffery's path.
Both sides pressed hard for a winning goal but none were forthcoming as the match ended in a deserved draw.
Manager Paul Gross kept his players on the pitch for 15 minutes after the game as he vented his fury at the drop in standards from Saturday's rout of Rochester United.
But the Millers will now prepare for the tough looking trip to League leaders Erith & Belvedere on Saturday knowing that they will be looking to bounce back from their first League defeat of the season at Corinthian on Tuesday.

Dere's captain Ryan Johnson scored a dramatic last minute goal to secure all three points for the League leaders. It was hard on the Millers, who over the 90 minutes probably deserved a point, but they gave away one free kick too many and were punished when Alfie May's shot was deflected to Johnson, who headed home from close range.
The Millers were missing Jamie Miller, Joe Matthews and Adam Gross through injuries and it wasn't long before skipper Tommy Osborne had to leave the field with leg injury. He was replaced by Jim Doherty after only 12 minutes as the Deres controlled the early exchanges. They deservedly took the League on 23 minutes with the League's top scorer Alfie May placing his free kick into the top corner of the net after Ryan Sawyer had recklessly fouled the same player on the edge of the Millers' box. It only took Cray three minutes to respond when their own top scorer converted a penalty after Dere's keeper Rilwan Anibaba took out Alex Chambers. Anibaba was fortunate only to receive a caution from referee David Lunani, and could have easily have seen red as he was the last man. The Millers almost took the lead shortly after when Jeffery forced Anibaba to make a mistake and Luke Tanner's angled shot hit the post before Chambers fired the rebound over the bar.
Instead of going into the break 2-1 ahead, the Millers were caught sleeping and went in 2-1 down. Jake Britnell rolled the ball to the unmarked Chris Hubbard and his low cross was converted at the near post by May. More injury woe for Miller’s manager Paul Gross just before the interval when he was forced to bring himself on when Ben Healy pulled up with a foot injury.
The second half wasn't quite played to the high tempo of the first half, but it still remained a feisty affair - as you would expect for a local derby! Several players from both sides received yellow cards and just after the hour the Millers equalised for the second time. A delightful through ball by Jimmy Rogers found Chambers and as Anibaba came charging out, the young striker coolly chipped the ball over the advancing keeper's head into the empty net. Dere's boss Matt Longhurst introduced Charley Hearn and George Humber in an attempt to win the game but the excellent Ronnie Vint dealt with everything the Deres produced. In fact they only looked dangerous at set pieces and that is where the winner came from. Another reckless challenge on the edge of the box provided May with free shot on goal and although the striker could not complete his hat-trick the ball fell kindly for Johnson to head past Jack Kelly.
The home side maintained their 100% home league record (5 wins from 5) and keep them 3 points ahead of Ashford United at the top the table.

Colin Barnes was the star of the show in a typically fiesty derby. The Millers' keeper saved a first half penalty from Ricky Freeman and pulled off a series of terrific saves as the visitors withheld a second half onslaught to gain a deserved point.
Cray welcomed the influential Jamie Miller back for his first start of the season following his knee ligament injury and top scorer Aaron Jeffery played his final game before his transfer to Greenwich Borough. This was probably the first time this campaign that manager Paul Gross was able to name his strongest line-up and having started the game well they took the lead after 12 minutes. Alex Chambers latched onto a long ball that eluded Scott Whibley and Chris Hill and the former Orpington striker coolly rounded Steve Phillips before slotting into an empty net.
Phoenix should have levelled the scores on the half hour mark when Chris Hill was hauled down in the box. There were no complaints from the Millers' players when referee Craig Burton pointed straight to the penalty spot. When Ricky Freeman starred for Holland and Blair in the Kent County League he was frequently the Millers' nemesis. On this occasion, however, he fluffed his lines when Barnes guessed correctly, dived low to his right and saved the striker's spot kick. The middle of the park was fiercely contested and for the remainder of the half there were more stoppages for fouls and off the ball incidents than football. Firstly, Hill was booked for cynically pulling Jeffery down on the half-way line and Jeffery himself received a yellow card for a dangerous challenge which prompted the coming together of almost every player on the pitch in protest. Tempers were soon defused when Burton blew up for half time.
The second half was very much one way traffic as Phoenix laid siege to the Cray goal in search of maximum points and it only took the home side 5 minutes to level the scores. A deep corner was headed back across the goal by Hill and Whibley was on hand to prod home from close range. Alex Nelson twice went close, in particular with a long range effort that hit the bar, and Freeman screwed his shot wide with the goal at his mercy. The home side relied too much on long throws and high balls into the box but the Millers' defence stood strong. Joe Matthews and Ronnie Vint comfortably won the aerial battle and they were ably assisted by Gross when he bought himself on to ensure the visitors left with at least a point. The score remained 1-1 so the homeside retained their unbeaten record in the League and Cray gained their first point after 3 successive defeats.

Jack Crump put the home side ahead after just seven minutes at Martyn Grove before Adam Hooper increased the Lords advantage before the break. The Millers stated their comeback in the second as Alex Chambers pulled one back before substitute Paul Gross levelled the scores with around 10 minutes remaining. But the Millers couldn't hold on to grab a point as Stephen Munn scored deep into injury time to stun the visitors.

Dan Lawrence put the visitors ahead as he fired a shot past debutant goalkeeper Ashley Bourne, after only three minutes. Bourne, the fourth keeper used by the Millers this season, could do nothing about the goal though and the Millers responded as Alwayne Jones levelled the scores in the 18th minute. City though regained their advantage 4 minutes later as Dan Gonzalez-Bellow ensured the visitors went into the break with the advantage. And Gonzalez-Bellow ensured victory with his second on 67 minutes. A late own goal proved scant consolation for Paul Gross' team.

The Millers crashed out of the league cup at the first hurdle as the Wells put up a rear-guard barrier against the attacking threat of Paul Gross team. And after keeping the Millers at bay the home side grabbed the winning goal 12 minutes from time through substitute Harry Smith's header.

The match ended in controversy though as the referee blew for full time a few minutes early after sending off four players, including Matthews and Ola Rabiu after a kerfuffle broke out on the pitch!

Alwayne Jones put the Millers in front after 13 minutes in this topsy-turvy fixture at Badgers. The Nuts & Bolts though went into the half-time break in front as Stuart Zanone beat Steve Sutton after 23 and 38 minutes. Alex Chambers levelled things up again within 4 minutes of the re-start and the result wasn't settled until Ronnie Vint found the back of the net, two minutes into added time!

The Millers bounced back from their disappointing Kent Senior Trophy defeat against Meridian with a well deserved victory against high flying Beckenham. Striker Alex Chambers stole the limelight with his first hat-trick for Cray but it was a great team effort that restricted Becks to one shot on target all game and made a good side look very ordinary. Both sides were missing key players with Joe Matthews, Ronnie Vint, Ola Rabiu, Jim Doherty and Jimmy Rogers missing for the Millers whilst captain Alfie Nunn and top scorer Jamie Humphries were absent from the Becks starting line up.
Cray had created several good chances before Chambers opened the scoring on 15 minutes. The lively Alwayne Jones collected the ball wide on the right hand side before delivering a peach of a cross for Chambers to head home past Becks keeper Dean Nash. Player manager Paul Gross almost doubled the lead moments later when his brother Adam found him from a corner but his header was tipped over by Nash. That proved to be his last contribution of the game as he was forced to leave the pitch with a suspected broken ankle following a 50-50 clash with Ben Healy. Fortunately, Becks had another keeper on the bench so Nash was replaced by Rilwan Anibaba. Despite dominating the play the Millers only carried the one goal lead into the break.
As expected the Becks stepped up their game in the second half but failed to penetrate a back line brilliantly marshalled by the experienced Gross. The Millers were lethal on the counterattack and the visitors defence struggled to deal with the pace of the Cray forwards. Ben Yiadom was unlucky not to score as his shot was saved on the line after some excellent work by the unselfish Chambers and the Millers had to wait until the 75 minute before their lead was increased. Healy’s initial shot was parried by substitute keeper Anibaba but the ball fell to the feet of Chambers who calmly slotted home from close range.
James Marshall almost pulled a goal back for Becks but his powerful strike was splendidly saved by young keeper Steve Sutton. Chambers thought he had completed his hat-trick on 80 minutes when he charged down a clearance from Anibaba before rolling the ball into an empty net but referee Simon Rudd disallowed the goal for handball. It wasn’t long though before he claimed the match ball. Once again man of the match Healy was involved. In an unfamiliar right midfield role, Healy was a menace to the Becks defence all afternoon and he was unlucky not to get himself on the score sheet on several occasions. However, he was able to claim his second assist of the day when his powerful shot was saved by Anibaba but once again Chambers was on hand to pounce to finally put the game beyond Beckenham.
A first clean sheet in the League this season for the Millers but more importantly an impressive performance that was rewarded with three crucial points!

Without a substitute goalkeeper on the bench, centre back Joe Matthews, returning to the starting line up following a four match suspension took over the goalkeeping duties. Alexander put Boro ahead early in the second half but Doherty struck back a minute later to level things.

The Millers left it late to secure the points at Oakley Road, despite the home side being reduced to 10 men in the 27th minute as Mark Axell blocked an Always Jones header with a hand on the line. Adam Gross slotted home from the resulting penalty to put the Millers in front. But a resolute home side equalised just past the hour mark as Greg Barton headed past Colin Barnes. But substitute Paul Gross restored the Millers advantage with two minutes remaining before Jim Doherty added some gloss in added time.

Dane Luchford reduced the arrears after 41 minutes, just two minutes after Rory Head was sent off for the Wells. The Millers looked to be hanging on to their advantage but with five minutes remaining , Brendan Cass ensured the spoils were shared.

Cray took the lead on 28 minutes with scorcher of a goal, Alwayne Jones collected the ball in midfield and moved forward. He suddenly just looked up and fired off a rocket of a shot from thirty yards which flew into the net leaving Shannon Harris in the City goal diving and grasping at thin air. Cray doubled the lead on 52 minutes. An Adam Gross twenty yard free kick was curled over the City wall and just inside the post for 0-2 and the second piece of quality on the night.On 78 minutes the visitors were awarded a penalty but Harris made a superb diving one handed save to deny Joe Matthews from the spot.

Cray Valley's recent rich vein of form continued tonight as they are now unbeaten in their last 5 games with this ultimately comfortable win against Corinthian. The visitors who are on a downward spiral as with this loss they have only gained a single point from their last 8 matches. The Millers had to make an enforced change before kick off with Laurent Hamici moving to the bench with a tight hamstring and being replaced by Alex Chambers. Chambers for his part had an excellent game scoring twice and being instrumental in the third. Although Corinthian tried hard throughout they lacked any real threat going forward. It was the home side who had the first chance of the game on 13 minutes when Alwayne Jones pulled the ball back from the right to Jamie Miller on the edge of the box but his rising shot was well saved by Corinthian keeper Sam I'Anson diving high to his left for a corner. After this there was a lot of endeavour from both sides but little goalmouth action until Cray took the lead on 39 minutes and it was all the work of Chambers. Picking the ball up down the left he raced forward before cutting into the box and hitting a fierce shot that beat a diving I'Anson, who got his fingertips to the ball, low at his right hand post. The visitors only chance of a disappointing first half for them came on 43 minutes when former Miller Luke Tanner fired a long range effort wide. The Millers went close to extending their lead on 72 minutes when Adam Gross whipped in a free kick from wide right that flew across the face of the crowded goalmouth and out to safety. Minutes later the visitors went close to drawing level when substitute Richie Stevens hit a 30 yard shot that beat home keeper Brad Morgan high to his left but rattled the bar before flying out to safety before they went close again on 77 minutes when another substitute Mike Hagan's found Nad Nwitua in the box but his first time shot flew across the face of goal low to the left of Morgan but narrowly wide. The Millers then doubled their lead on 82 minutes when a free kick from the half way line was nodded on by Jones for Chambers to race onto and he slotted home low to the right of I'Anson. Then in the last minute of normal time the Millers made it three when Chambers made space well before hitting a fierce drive that was well blocked by I'Anson diving low to his right but Doherty following up was able to force the ball home despite the efforts of a couple of Corinthian defenders.
