Cray Valley moved on to a Preliminary Round home tie against Whyteleafe with this hard fought win over rivals Chatham Town.
In blustery conditions with an autumnal feel, Millers secured victory courtesy of first half strikes from Josh James and Anthony Edgar.
Chatham were the first to threaten in the 18th minute when a cross cum shot from Harding on the right wing rebounded wide off Andy Walker's post.
On 25 minutes, pressing on the edge of the Chatham box by the excellent Francis Babalola saw the ball make it's way to James who rifled home from 25 yards.
With the Millers now beginning to enjoy periods of domination, Leon Smith fouled Edgar on the edge of the area in the 41st minute. Edgar fired into the right bottom corner of the net to increase the home side's lead.
Chatham pressed at the start of the second half and got their reward when, on 65 minutes, a cross from the right saw Justyn Roberts' header find its way through a crowded goalmouth.
A tetchy period of play then ensued before the Millers' goal was given a scare when a fine volley from Jon Pilbeam was well saved by the flying Walker.
