The Millers eased into the next round courtesy of a first half penalty by veteran striker Adam Coombes and a late strike by substitute Freddie Parker. Manager Steve McKimm shuffled his pack following their midweek FA victory and it was one of those changes that opened the scoring. Coombes won the penalty before picking himself up to cooly despatch his spot kick past Callum Coulter.

Julien Anau went close to increasing the Millers lead on twenty minutes, his shot hitting the underside of the cross bar and staying out. At the other end there was a penalty shout for the Row when the ball appeared to hit the hand of Oshilaja in the box but the referee was unmoved. The Row enjoyed good spells just before and after the break but when they did create goal scoring opportunities they found keeper Sam Freeman in fine form.

The Millers gradually started to regain the ascendancy in the final half hour and chances followed. Winger Denzel Gayle was a constant threat to the visitors as Cray pushed to increase their slender lead. They had to wait though until the 89th minute before securing the victory with an excellent well worked goal. Cem Tumkaya's long ball from the back was superbly controlled by Gayle out wide who hooked the ball to Parker who in turn found Matty Vigor, he kept his composure close to the by line and pulled the ball back to the oncoming Parker who fired home from close range.

The Millers immediately went close to adding a third when Kyrell Lisbie's shot was saved by the keeper pushing the ball away for a corner. In the final minute Freeman pulled off another excellent save at close range as the Row went close although it wouldn't have counted in any case as the assistants flag was raised for offside.
