Kent Senior Cup - Ramsgate v Millers

MILLERS HIT SEVEN

KENT SENIOR CUP FIRST ROUND - 27 SEP 2023 - ATT 215
RAMSGATE 1 CRAY VALLEY (PM) 7
GOALS: R - Holden 78
CV - Coombes 11, 59, 74, Damyanov 26, Tumkaya 45, Anau 62, Parker 68

The Millers with a mix of young and old took full advantage of a youthful Rams side by hitting seven to safely progress into the next round of the Kent Senior Cup. The Millers line up saw first starts for Calvin Ekpiteta along with four of the Isthmian U18 side.

Young and old combined well early on with Adam Coombes opening the scoring for the Millers in the 11th minute heading home Victor Damyanov's left wing cross at the near post. The lead was increased on 26 minutes Dexter Gilchrist finding Adam Coombes out wide who crossed for Damyanov to tap home at the far post. On the stroke of half time Cem Tumkaya made it three nil.

Just before the hour mark, Damyanov was again involved, this time breaking down the left before sliding in Coombes, who rounded the keeper and slotted home into an empty net for his second of the match. Minutes later it was five, Julien Anau on the scoresheet, slotting home after a one two with Gilchrist in the area. Substitute Freddie Parker soon got on the scoresheet, Calvin Ekpiteta weaving some magic around the edge of the area before sliding the ball across the six yard box for Parker to slam home from close range.

On 74 minutes Coombes completed his hat trick, scoring the Millers seventh after exchanging passes with Michale Ademuliyi to get into the box and fire a shot across the keeper and into the far netting.

The Rams reduced the deficit with twelve minutes remaining, Tristan Holden the scorer, firing across Millers keeper Aidan Wicks. Chances continued at both ends, Leo Moore rattling the crossbar at one end and Kyrell Lisbie hitting the post at the other. Finley Bough went close near the end forcing Wicks in goal to make a smart stop.

The second round sees the Millers on the road once again, this time to meet SCEFL Premier side Punjab United, the tie likely to be on Tuesday 17th October.
