Cray Valley took all three points with Hassan Ibrahiym scoring two second half goals in their first ever league encounter at Oaklands Park. Committee member and club stalwart Steve Chapman did remind me on the journey down that Cray Valley had in fact won on the ground previously though, back in 2013 when he was manager, a 5-3 victory after extra time in the FA Vase on that occasion.

A lively but goal-less first half owed much to Cray keeper Chris Lewington for a fantastic double save, first keeping out Kaleem Haitham's shot and then Ben Mendoza's follow up header on 15 minutes. Cray had their chances with both Marcel Barrington and Denzel Gayle off target with their shots and Chi centre back Ben Pashley came to the rescue with a last ditch tackle after Gayle had got past keeper Kieran Magee.

The opening goal came after 50 minutes, slightly fortuitously, as Ibrahiym stuck a foot out as the Chi defender tried to clear and the ball looped back over the keeper into the net. His second seven minutes later followed a mix up with Ibrahiym nipping in to take the ball past the keeper, compose himself and slot home a tap in. With a few minutes remaining Cray were awarded a penalty after Ibrahiym was fouled just inside the box but Nathan Green dragged his penalty wide.

A deserved three points for Cray and much needed with all the other promotion contenders around them also winning.
