KEVIN WATSON'S SOUTH LONDON PROMOTION CHASERS returned from an enforced 14 day break with this narrow win to keep pace with the leaders.
The Millers were quick out of the blocks, taking a 3rd minute lead as excellent work on the right by Ryan King-Elliott saw him find Ryan Flack just outside the 18 yard box.
The midfielder moved inside before firing a left footed drive beyond Hillians 17 year old Brighton loanee keeper, Fynn Talley.
The visitors threatened a quick equaliser as right back Louie Downey found space inside the area to drive against Millers keeper Andy Walker's left post in the 8th minute.
Flack almost extended the lead in the 11th minute, heading narrowly over the bar following excellent work by Francis Babalola wide on the right.
Despite largely dominating the remainder of the half, the hosts were unable to extend their lead going into the break.
With the wind playing a large part in proceedings, the second half was largely played out in the Millers' half, without really threatening Walker's goal.
In a rare foray upfield, excellent play by Gavin Tomlin midway in the visitors half saw him play in Babalola whose fierce shot was saved at the foot of the post in the 63rd minute.
A final scare for the hosts came in the 89th minute as Hillians substitute Mason Doughty shot narrowly wide from just outside the box, but 3 hard earned points were secured.
Millers ;- Walker, Semakula, Smith (Ibrahiym 58), Sains, Tumkaya, Babalola, Tomlin, Flack (Ansah 86), Morath-Gibbs, Warren, King-Elliott (Erskine 71)
