THE MILLERS REMAIN IN SECOND PLACE in the league despite falling to a second consecutive away defeat without scoring.
After a first half in which The Millers looked to play a passing game on the bobbly surface, the high line played by the Phoenix rearguard was successful in protecting keeper Steve Francis in a half of few chances.
With the visitors having marginally the better of the match territorially after the break, the decisive moment came in the 64th minute when the game's outstanding forward player, Phoenix Sports wide man Kenny Alireu, went on a mazy run 25 yards out and was scythed down in the penalty area by Ashley Sains.
The striker picked himself up to fire home low to Andy Walker's right.
As the visitors looked to get back into the game, the introduction of Francis Babalola added some much needed pace to the front line - Francis being called into action to thwart Anthony Edgar, Kevin Lisbie and Babalola.
With the game deep into injury time following an horrific looking injury to Danny Smith, Alireu converted from a Phoenix counter attack to secure the points for the hosts.
