The Millers were dominant in the first half although guilty of some profligate finishing and thwarted by the U's man of the match goalkeeper Louis Rogers - the pick being a double save in the 40th minute from Freddie Parker, saving the initial shot and then tipping the rebound effort over the bar. They continued in the same vain immediately after the interval with captain Kiki Oshilaja going close with a header.

The breakthrough and all important goal finally came in the 70th Minute, a throw in found Parker who laid the ball back into the path of substitute Matty Vigor whose shot was parried away by Rogers and this time Ademiluyi was well placed to tap home the rebound to put the Millers ahead. Fumnaya Shomotun nearly doubled the lead on 79 minutes his well struck right foot low drive smacking against the foot of the post and out.

Max Ovenden in the Valley goal was rarely troubled all afternoon and although the U's tried to rally towards the end it was the Millers who deservedly took the three points which ensures the Millers stay in second place, three points behind leaders Dover Athletic.
