A Freddie Parker first half hat trick ensured victory over the Rocks and despite late goals at the end of both halves, the Millers secured the three points to move into fourth place in the table.

Valley opened the scoring with their first real attempt at goal in the 14th minute, Fumnaya Shomotun with the low cross along the edge of the box and Parker at the second attempt after his first shot was blocked, composed himself and fired past the outstretched hand of Ryan Hall. Both keepers then made saves before Valley doubled their lead in the 34th minute. Marcel Barrington playing wide right did well and his ball back to Barney Wiliams was met with a wonderful first time cross onto the head of Parker whose powerfully placed header gave the keeper no chance.

Parker completed his hat trick two minutes before the interval, racing through and shooting low from an acute angle into the far bottom corner past Hall. After Williams had cleared a Rocks effort off the line, in added time at the end of the first half the Rocks did pull a goal back, Jasper Mather beating the defender to run at goal and slot past Ovenden from just inside the box.

The Rocks enjoyed a better start to the second half and Valley were forced to defend well, Ovenden making a couple of vital saves and the hat trick man, Parker well positioned on his own goal line to clear another effort. However there remained no further goals until three minutes into four added minutes when Spencer Spurway hit a screamer from 25 yards into the top corner giving Ovenden no chance to make the final score 2-3.
