Fumnaya Shomotun in action

An injury ravaged Millers side came from behind to earn a deserved three points at the Artic stadium as the two promoted sides looked to maintain their impressive start in the Isthmian Premier.
The Chic took the lead in the 18th minute when Jimmy Wild curled the ball around the home sides wall into the top corner of the net giving Max Ovenden no chance. Freddie Parker levelled the scores in the 33rd minute when Marcel Barrington’s powerful shot came back off the bottom of the post and was directed into his path by Danny Waldren.
On loan winger Funmi Shomoton grabbed the winner for the Valley in the 40th minute when he sprinted clear from out wide flicking the ball over the head of the attending defenders and continuing into the area before firing home into the bottom far corner.
Man of the Match nominated by the matchday sponsor was the impressive Kiki Oshilaja who helped marshal the young Malik Sesay alongside him at the back and had made a fine run proceeding the second goal to set up Clement Asiedu to take a quick throw to Shomotun.
The Millers worked hard in the second half to restrict Chi as the rain eased, but for all their possession the Millers failed to extend their lead. Tom Beere and Adam Coombes both went close when finding themselves one on one, forcing keeper Kieran Magee to make good blocks to keep them out.
In the event the Millers ran out comfortable winners and now sit in 6th place from their opening 10 games on 17 points. Chi are 8th on 14 points.
