A two goal blast in two minutes just before and on the hour mark secured victory for Valley to spoil the Wands homecoming party in front of a bumper crowd of 840. Denzel Gayle the long serving Valley winger who has played over 290 games for them was at his very best, first firing home past the keeper after a pacey breakaway having played a one-two with Freddie Parker out wide just inside his own half. This was followed with another break down the right flank, after receiving the ball from Hassan Ibrahiym and crossing low for Freddie Parker to bundle home the ball from close range at the far post.

Valley enjoyed more of the possession throughout the match creating a number of chances, including Gayle hitting the post in the first half, before the double strike. Chances were few and far between for the Wands but when called upon Max Ovenden in the Valley goal made a good block with his legs to deny Kenny Coker in the 14th minute.

An excellent performance and fully deserved first three points for Valley at step 3 and the Wands despite the result will look back on what has been a fantastic achievement to get to where they are with their new stadium after 26 years ground sharing at Bromley.
