Striker Adam Coombes completed a first half hat trick as the Millers retained their position at the submit of the league in blustery conditions at the Artic stadium. Coombes netted his first in the 5th minute when he chested in a deep cross from Tom Chambers. Lyle Della-Verde extended the lead in the 11th minute when his free kick from out wide, edge of the box eluded everyone to creep in past Hillians keeper Fin Holter at the far post.

In the 20th minute Valley were awarded a penalty for handball, Michael Ademiluyi’s initial shot was blocked and the follow up effort from Coombes struck the defenders arm. Coombes stepped up to take but his shot went the wrong side of the post having sent the keeper the wrong way.

Coombes didn’t have to wait long for his second though which was almost identical to his first but on this occasion he headed home Chambers cross before he completed his hat trick in the 37th minute with a neat finish following a fine driving run from Michael Ademiluyi.

Hillians started brightly after the interval and Max Ovenden in the Valley goal was forced into action, tipping a shot from outside the box over the crossbar. In the main though it was Valley who continued to dominate the play, Coombes and later substitute Freddie Parker both having shots saved by the Hillians keeper. In the end though they were only able to add one more goal to their tally when Kyrell Lisbie rushing in helped the ball over the line from close range 11 minutes from time after Ademiluyi's shot had been only partially saved by the keeper.
