In a close match Marcel Barrington's 62nd minute goal separated the two sides as the Millers sealed victory against the Lancers to make it eight wins from eight on the road in the league this season.

The Millers went close in the opening minute a lovely passing move involving Barney Williams, Denzel Gayle and Lyle Della-Verde culminated in Matthew Vigor's measured chip going just over the upright as he aimed for the top corner. Lots of endeavour from both sides followed in the opening half without either keeper being really troubled.

Immediately after the break Tom Chambers saw his header cleared off the line, headed away by the Lancing defender for a corner. Lancing responded and Ben Pope had an effort safely gathered by Max Ovenden followed by George Taggart shot flashing past the post. In the 55th minute Vigor after a run fired a low shot from outside the box just wide of the target.

Not long after saw the game's winning moment, Michael Ademiluyi out wide found Gayle in a central position with the pass, his shot was deflected into the path of Barrington who slotted past the keeper from close range. Thereafter Cray were forced to defend well as Lancing pressed for the equaliser, their best chance a Pope header in added time which went wide.

Cray will be delighted to earn another three points on the road and return to more action in Sussex on Tuesday evening when they visit Chichester City.
