EAST GRINSTEAD TOWN 0 CRAY VALLEY (PM) 4 - 21 OCT 2023 - ATT 115
Goals: CV - Lisbie 13, 38 Parker 40, Ekpiteta 86

The Millers returned to league action, having last played a league game on August Bank Holiday at Phoenix Sports. Since then the Millers have remained unbeaten in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy. They continued that good run taking the sting out of the Wasps by scoring three times without reply in the first half and running out comfortable 4-0 winners by the end.

The Millers started the game brightly and went close early on. Kyrell Lisbie broke on the right flank passed inside to Freddie Parker who saw his measured shot deflected just over the bar by Wasps keeper Matte Pierson. Shortly after Matt Vigor had a shot from distance fly just over. They took a deserved lead in the 13th minute when a long ball from Arthur Lee set Kyrell Lisbie free and he fired past the keeper for his 11th goal of the season.

The Wasps went close twice in quick succession, Sam Freeman in the Valley goal making a good save however it was the Millers who were very much on the front foot and went close themselves on the half hour. Michael Ademiluyi crossed from out wide, a back header flicked on from Vigor and Sonny Black’s effort was saved by the keeper clawing the ball back as shouts that it had crossed the line went in vain.

The lead was finally doubled on 38 minutes and it was Kyrell Lisbie again repeating his earlier effort, firing the ball low past the keeping after cutting inside. Two minutes later Barney Williams long pass picked out Parker who finished well slotting under the advancing keeper to make it three.

Second half and Lisbie nearly completed his hat trick, when his curled shot was saved by Pierson in goal, pushing the ball away for a corner. On the hour the two goalscorers, Lisbie and Parker were replaced by Denzel Gayle and Adam Coombes. Several chances came and went before substitute Calvin Ekpiteta who had replaced Ademiluyi scored with an equisite late strike, picking the ball up near the half way line he made a run which ended with him curling the ball from wide on the edge of the box over the keeper into the far top corner to make it four.
