Newcomers Broadbridge Heath earned their second consecutive 2-2 draw of the season with a spirted performance in tropical conditions at the Artic stadium, as torrential rain fell in the second half. Cray Valley ended the match with 10 men following the dismissal of Kiki Oshilaja under the category offensive, insulting or abusive language by the Spanish speaking referee Dennis Torres Miranda.
The Millers were the quickest out of the blocks and took the lead after 2 minutes with an excellent strike from Kyrell Lisbie into the roof of the net following a sublime pass from Matt Vigor. Valley missed early chances to extend the lead as their final finish failed to match the build up. The Bears grew into the game and Jake Lindsey levelled the scores before the break when he capitalised on a mistake by Jenson Grant.
The second half mirrored the first as Grant, up for the corner, atoned for his earlier error when he reacted quickly to slot home from close range after Sonny Black had put in a low cross. Shortly after Oshilaja’s sending off in the 76th minute, the visitors were awarded a penalty for a foul, which captain Ryan Brackpool calmly slotted home sending keeper Sam Freeman the wrong way.
