Adeyemo strikes for goal

The Millers continued their recent run of good form with an emphatic win against their promotion rivals. At a chilly Artic Stadium the home side outclassed Ashford and stormed into a four lead by the interval with two goals apiece by strike partners Ade Adeyemo and Adam Coombes. The opening two from Adeyemo both low drives from just outside the box and Coombes double that followed was firstly direct from a free kick, wrong footing the goalkeeper and then tapping home from close range Sonny Black's cross. The game was effectively over as a spectacle minutes into the second half when Adeyemo completed his hat trick with a magnificent long range shot that flashed past keeper Jacob Russell into the top corner of the net, following a ten pass build up. Coombes missed his chance for his treble when he fired a late penalty over the bar. Gary Lockyer scored the Nuts and Bolts consolation goal.

Millers manager Tommy Osborne quoted “ Really pleased with the result. The boys were great again today and I’m looking forward to the run in now”.
