Sonny Black’s late winner for the Millers ended their recent run of poor form against a Lancing team that deserved more following a spirited second half performance.
The home side dominated possession in the first half but only had Dan Bennett’s tap in from close range in the 27th minute to demonstrate their supremacy . The Lancers levelled the score immediately after the interval when centre back Marcus Allen found himself with acres of space and calmly slotted past Miller’s keeper Chris Lewington. The game was looking to be heading for a draw when Tom Chambers deep free kick was headed across the box by Mitchell Nelson and Sonny Black was alert enough to divert the ball past Gregor Sham.
