Three Bridges had to defend stoutly as Cray hammered away at them for much of the second half, and a late equaliser by Mitchell Nelson was almost inevitable. From the corner the ball was headed up and Nelson with his back to the goal was able to execute a fine overhead kick close in for the finish. An act which he told me laughing afterwards defied his age as he felt his body twinge with pain climbing into his car.

Bridges stole ahead after 11 minutes when Brannon O'Neil's corner came back to him and he delivered a delightful cross to the far post for Billy Irving to head home. Cray came close to levelling before there awarded a penalty on the half hour for a foul on Hassan Ibrahiym, who took the pot kick himself to equalise. Two minutes before half time, Curtis Gayler restored Bridges lead with a blistering free kick, a low drive from 30 yards into the bottom corner before Nelson earned his side a deserved point.

Cray almost snatched victory in added time, Ade Adeyemo and Denzel Gayle combining well and the ball fell to Adam Coombes who slumped to his knees in disbelief as he saw his effort fly over the bar from inside the six yard box.
