THREE POINTS FOR CHI
PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE SE DIV
CRAY VALLEY (PM) 0 CHICHESTER CITY 1 - 4 FEB 2023 - ATT 80
Goals CC - Rowlatt 82
Report by Steve Chapman
For the second consecutive match the Millers promotion charge was thwarted by losing to a late goal. An even first half only produced one real chance when Barney Williams shot was turned over by the visitors stopper Kieran Magee.
The game changed on the stroke of half time when Tom Chambers was shown a straight red card leaving Cray to play the second half with a numerical difference. However, it was the home team that looked the most likely to break the deadlock. Magee made several fine saves before a slip by Mitchell Nelson in the 81st minute allowed Lloyd Rowlatt to shot emphatically past Chris Lewington.
Cray almost equalised in added time but Ayo Majek’s shot hit the inside of the post and bounced to safety.
