The Millers completed their pre season with a trip to the excellent Camping World Stadium and 3G pitch to play Isthmian Premier side Horsham. Both teams opened the match on the front foot and Adam Coombes almost opened the scoring as he met a cross before Dan Bennett saw his shot blocked and behind for a corner. The Millers went ahead in the 14th minute, Denzel Gayle broke down the right and his cross was emphatically put away by Adam Coombes into the top corner from 12 yards.

Four minutes later the Hornets were level, a period of sustained attack from the hosts and Lucus Rodrigues was on hand at the far post to slot home. On 22 minutes the Millers re-took the lead, Kershaney Samuels and Coombes combine in the box before the former got himself clear on goal and slotted home. Once gain though the Hornets quickly equalised when on 29 minutes a loose pass in midfield allowed the Hornets possession and Shamir Fenelon converted lee Hardings cross from close range.

The Hornets were awarded what appeared to be a soft penalty soon after when Harding went to ground in the box. Fenelon put the spot kick wide of the post and it remained 2-2. With half time approaching the Millers took the lead for the third time in the half, on 41 minutes Bennett latched on to a Samuels through ball and curled a shot past the hoe keeper from 18 yards out. An immediate response followed by the hosts as a minute as Fenelon knocked home e a cross from close range. Quite a half, plenty of entertainment with the scores level at 3-3 at the interval.

The opening to the second half saw the hosts start to ramp up the pressure with the Millers looking to settle and launch their counter attacks. An enthralling game was unravelling. 63 minutes gone and another penalty for the hosts, more clear cut this one with no real complaints after a foul was committed in the box. Tom Day made no mistake as the Hornets went ahead for the first time in the match. 4-3

Both sides made personnel changes from the bench as the clock ticked down and with virtually the last move of the game the Millers came close to snatching what would have been a deserved equaliser. A well worked corner found it's way to the edge of the box and the low strike hit the inside of the post and rebounded into the keepers arms.

Full time and the Hornets edge it 4-3. A good work out in the sunshine for both teams and thank you to Horsham for their fabulous hospitality and we wish them well for the season ahead.
