After scoring two goals for The Millers in our recent London Senior Cup tie at Glebe, striker Marcel Barrington has agreed to join us for the upcoming season.
25 year old Guyana international Marcel, featured in the Leicester City Under 21 set-up in the 2014/15 season before being released and joining Walton Casuals in November 2015.
He has since gone on to win promotion with Braintree Town - where he was a member of the National League South PlayOff winning team in 2017/18, - before joining Welling United from Dartford in 2020.
Since making his international debut in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in 2015, Marcel has made 5 appearances for his country, netting twice.
“I am delighted to have signed for Cray Valley (PM)” he told us.
“I can see the direction the Club is aiming to go, and I’m keen to get started with the team to compete for promotion at the end of the season”.
Manager Kevin Watson is looking forward to working with his latest new recruit. “Marcel has played two games for us in the London Cup. This was by no means a trial, but more an opportunity for Marcel to experience the way we operate while allowing us to understand how best we can develop him further.
He is a strong player with the ability to do all the aspects needed to be effective in our team and style of play.
He strikes us as humble in his approach, which is always a desirable trait for us.
We look forward to working with Marcel this coming season”.
Come on You Millers!
