It's been a busy last week or so on the administrative front at the club.
Firstly there was our appeal for the wrongful dismissal of Tom Beere in the incident which led to the unfortunate serious injury to the Lewes player Marcel McIntosh and the abandonment of the game in the 77th minute with the scoreline 0-2. Pleased to confirm that the FA Regulatory Commission after viewing the video evidence upheld our appeal and the red card was rescinded.
Both Lewes and ourselves were then asked to submit our observations and comments concerning the abandoned game. The Isthmian League board met yesterday to consider those submissions along with one from the match referee. They concluded that no exceptional circumstances existed and therefore the result of the match will not stand. In accordance with league rules the game will now be replayed.
A new date for the game along with match day pricing will be announced shortly following discussions between the two clubs.
Finally this morning the club received a visit to the Artic Stadium from the assessor to update the ground grading report. Following promotion, step 3 level is now of course required. I am pleased to report that the visit went very well and there is now just one small item outstanding. An additional two press seating tables - on order - and once received and fitted we should then be given a pass for the new step 3 level.
Well done to all those involved at the club for the numerous ground improvements that have taken place at the Artic Stadium over the past year.
