Congratulations to our U16's who on Sunday were crowned Champions of the Kent Youth League Central Division. Management team Steve Axam, Terry Jolly and Gary Plant can be proud of the boys efforts this season, a tremendous achievement.
Given the rare opportunity of playing on the main pitch at the Artic Stadium they beat Chipstead 4-1 to secure the title. With three games to play they now enjoy a thirteen point lead over second place Beckenham Town who they meet away on the 14th May. Their other two games are at Badgers when they host Erith Town next Sunday and complete the season against Bridon Ropes on the 21st May.
So far this season they are unbeaten in the league having won 15 of their 17 games, scoring 84 goals and conceding just 22 in the process.
Gary Plant one of the management team said "The Boys have been fantastic this year with some great performances along the way. At the start of the campaign we set them the target of winning the league which they have achieved with 3 games still to play, additional to this as the season has progressed we said that we wanted them to go unbeaten and achieve 100 goals, the ‘L’ column remains at 0 and ‘GF’ sits at 84. A special mention for our manager Steve Axam who meticulously plans the training sessions, makes sure the boys have the finest facilities available to them, and continually pushes them to be the best players that they can be."
