Cray Valley (PM) have accepted a league charge of playing an ineligible player in the 2-0 win at Potters Bar Town on the 8th March 2025. As part of the sanction against the club the three points gained in that game will now be deducted. The league table going forward will reflect this.

It is of course disappointing for all concerned and we apologise to everyone at the club - team management, players, club officials, volunteers and supporters.

Whilst the relevant paperwork was in place it was not correctly submitted to the league. The complexities of the situation, resulting from initially mis-reading an email, resulted in the player not being confirmed on the system following his loan extension.

Our volunteer club officials work tirelessly to negotiate a variety of tasks to ensure the administrative side of things are correct but regrettably on this occasion human error crept in.

The club on realising the error immediately brought the matter to the league’s attention. It is accepted that this was an unfortunate technical oversight in the processing which although easily rectified wasn’t initially picked up.

Whilst the exact circumstances of this particular situation is unlikely to repeat itself, the club are committed to reviewing its processes to try and build in safeguards to help prevent similar errors occurring in the future.
